Haworthia emelyae is a species of the genus Haworthia in the subfamily of the Affodil family (Asphodeloideae).

description

Haworthia emelyae seldom sprouts. The clearly trimmed, pointed, hardly translucent leaves form a rosette with a diameter of up to 10 centimeters. The dark green, lined leaf blade is covered with scattered, elongated small spots and indistinctly raised warts.

The inflorescence reaches a length of up to 30 centimeters and consists of 15 to 20 white flowers .

Systematics and distribution

Haworthia emelyae is widespread in the South African provinces of the Western Cape and Eastern Cape .

The first description by Karl von Poellnitz was published in 1937.

A distinction is made between the following varieties :

  • Haworthia emelyae var. Emelyae
  • Haworthia emelyae var. Comptoniana (GGSm.) JDVenter & SAHammer
  • Haworthia emelyae var. Major (GGSm.) MBBayer
  • Haworthia emelyae var. Multifolia M.B.Bayer
