Haworthia longiana is a species of the genus Haworthia in the subfamily of the Affodilla family (Asphodeloideae). The specific epithet longiana honors the British horticulturist Frank R. Long (1884–1961).

description

Haworthia longiana grows without a trunk and sprouts slowly. The narrow, long, narrow, upright, inwardly curved leaves form a rosette with a diameter of up to 6 centimeters and a height of up to 30 centimeters. The leaf blade up to 30 inches long and 2 inches wide. The leaf surface is rough. There are small, indistinctly raised warts on it. Occasionally there are small white warts present.

The loose inflorescence is sparsely branched. The curved flower tube is upside down. The tips of the inner tepals are rolled back.

Systematics and distribution

Haworthia longiana is widespread in the South African province of Eastern Cape in the Baviaanskloof area .

The first description by Karl von Poellnitz was published in 1935. A nomenclature synonym is Haworthia pumila subsp. longiana (Poelln.) Halda (1997). Another synonym is Haworthia longiana var. Albinota G.G.Sm. (1948).
