Haymo (Wroclaw)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Haymo (also: Imislaw ; † 1126 ) was Bishop of Breslau .

Little is known about the origins of Bishop Haymo and his episcopal work. At that time, religious life was probably only widespread in the sovereign castles, in the castellanias and in the monasteries. During Haymo's tenure, the Breslau castellan Peter Włast founded the St. Vincent monastery on the Elbing, which was endowed with rich land and settled with Benedictine monks , probably from Metz , but soon converted into a Premonstratensian monastery .
