Heather Dyer

Heather Dyer (* 1970 in Scotland ) is a British children's author .

Life

Dyer grew up in north Wales . When she was 10 years old she moved to Canada with her family . After finishing school, she traveled to different countries for a few years and made her way in various professions. Eventually she decided to write children's books. In 2002 Dyer published her first work with the picture book Tina and the Penguin . Several children's books followed. Her book The Fish in Room 11 received the 2006 Highland Children's Book Award . The Boy in the Biscuit Tin was nominated for the Galaxy Best British Children's Book Award in 2008.

She was a Fellow at the University of Worcester from 2008 to 2009, a Fellow at the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff from 2009 to 2011 , and a Fellow at Aberystwyth University from 2012 to 2013 .

Dyer now lives in Wales.
