Hebrew Union College

The Hebrew Union College - Jewish Institute of Religion (also HUC or HUC-JIR ) was founded in 1875 and is America's oldest rabbinical seminary.

It trains rabbis , cantors and religion teachers and offers graduate studies in Jewish studies up to doctoral degrees .

The HUC has three training centers in the USA :

Established in 1963, the Jerusalem campus is the only liberal rabbinical seminary in Israel . HUC-JIR works with the Union of Reform Judaism and the Central Conference of American Rabbis, the American Conference of Cantors, and the National Association of Temple Educators. Since 1968, the Los Angeles-based faculty School of Jewish Nonprofit Management has trained the next generation of leaders for the Jewish community.

With one million volumes, the HUC-JIR has one of the world's largest collections of Judaica. A cooperation agreement connects HUC-JIR with the Abraham Geiger College and the Jewish Institute of Cantorial Arts at the University of Potsdam (Germany).
