Brewery beer

The Fässla Brewery (also known as Fässchen) is a brewery in Bamberg in Upper Franconia .

history

The history of the Fässla brewery goes back to 1649: The Thirty Years' War was just over a year when the brewer and Büttner Hanß Lauer set up a brewery in the corner house on the passage to the Holy Sepulcher . The house itself is much older - according to the oldest interest books of the St. Gangolf monastery , it was already in the 14th century and was given to Conrad Kauffmann and his wife Kunigund on St. Vitus Day in 1398 for a pound of money Given fief.

According to a document from the notary Büttner, the master brewer Paul Lutz acquired the Fässla brewery on January 20, 1898. Since October 1, 1986, the brewing and master malting family Kalb has continued the Fässla tradition.

Products

A total of six types of beer are produced. These are Zwergla (6% alcohol), lager (5.5%) and Gold-Pils (5.5%), all of which are bottom-fermented full beers . In addition, a light and a dark wheat beer (both 5%) are produced.

In October, the company traditionally brews a bottom-fermented strong beer , the Bambergator , the strongest beer in Bamberg with 8.5% alcohol and an original wort of 21%.

With an output of 33,000 hectoliters per year, Fässla is the second largest brewery in Bamberg.
