The Hegau library in Singen (Hohentwiel) is a special library to promote historical and scientific research into Hegau and its wider surroundings.

In addition, important literature about Lake Constance and the entire south-west of Germany, including Switzerland and Austria, is taken into account. There is a newspaper archive and art catalogs are also collected . The total inventory of the Hegau library comprises around 80,000 volumes as well as around 3,000 maps and city maps. Around 700 current journals are kept. In the extensive reference library in the library's reading room, many reference works, manuals and important standard works can be viewed. There is close cooperation with the Hegau History Association , which also publishes the Hegau Library book series .
