The Hegau History Society is a history society based in Singen am Hohentwiel in Baden-Württemberg . Members of the history association regularly publish articles in yearbooks and other media.

history

The association was founded as an association for the history of Hegau on the initiative of the mayor of Singen Theopont Diez and the head of the cultural office, Herbert Berner.

activities

Twice a year the association presents an extensive program consisting of lectures, guided tours, hikes, bike tours and excursions. These events are mostly planned and carried out by members of the association, some also in cooperation with other associations, e.g. B. the Baarverein . Most events naturally take place in Hegau and Konstanz (which historically actually belongs to Thurgau ), but there are also excursions and lectures in neighboring areas such as northeastern Switzerland, Baar or Linzgau on the northern shore of Lake Constance .

Yearbooks

Every year the association publishes a comprehensive volume with essays on an overarching topic, which the members receive as an annual gift, for example the magazine first appeared in 1956 and bears the title Hegau with the subtitle magazine for history, folklore and natural history of the area between the Rhine and Danube and Lake Constance .
