Heide Braukmüller

Heide Braukmüller , b. Klinkhamer (born March 30, 1940 in Oldenburg ; † February 24, 2017 ) was a teacher in Stiekelkamperfehn and Weener , as well as a museum teacher for the East Frisian Landscape in Aurich .

biography

Braukmüller spent her childhood and youth in Leer (Heisfelde and Loga). Since 1964 Braukmüller lived in Weener in the Rhineland.

education

She attended elementary school, higher commercial school and high school for girls, today's Teletta-Groß-Gymnasium Leer .

After graduating from high school, she studied at the University of Education in Hanover for teaching at elementary schools and in Oldenburg for teaching at secondary schools. Further studies took place at the Carl von Ossietzky University in Oldenburg. There she did her doctorate under Helmut Freiwald on the Danish administration of Kalaallit Nunaats / Greenland (Dr. rer. Pol.), Under Heinrich Schmidt on Rheiderland brickworks and their workers (Dr. phil.).

Research and work areas

Braukmüller devoted himself primarily to social history research. Their publications deal in particular with the history of workers, schools and women.

In addition to this work, she volunteered, for example as the museum director of the Weener local history museum and as chairwoman of the Free German Association of Authors.

Awards

In 2001, Braukmüller was awarded the Upstalboom-Taler to the Weeneran for researching the East Frisian and Rheiderland everyday history of the East Frisian landscape .

In 2008 she received the Weener Medal for her scientific work on the history of the Rheiderland .
