The house Heidestrasse 22, Salzmannstrasse 20, 22 is a listed building in Magdeburg in Saxony-Anhalt .

location

It is located in a corner at the confluence of Heidestrasse and Salzmannstrasse in the Sudenburg district . Heidestrasse 23 , which is also a listed building, is adjacent to the northwest, and Salzmannstrasse 18 to the northeast .

Architecture and history

The three to four storey house was built in 1908 in the Art Nouveau style . The architect, master mason and owner was August Kalbow . The house entrances on both streets are spanned with a triangular gable and designed as a portico . Below the windows are decorative elements designed in Art Nouveau style. The cartridge shapes go back to African masks in an unusual way . There are also wave and snail motifs.

Due to its prominent corner location, the building is considered to be characteristic of the street scene and is part of a completely preserved street with buildings from the early days .

In the local register of monuments , the house is listed as a monument under registration number 094 82107 . Presumably by mistake, the house is also listed at Salzmannstraße 20, 22 with registration number 094 77006.
