Rusk is a municipality in Burnett County in the US state of Wisconsin . According to the 2010 survey, the city had 409 inhabitants.
geography
Rusk is in eastern Burnett County, west of Washburn County . According to the United States Census Bureau , the city has an area of 89.886 km², of which 84.467 km² is land and 5.418 km², or 6.03%, is water. The Yellow River , a tributary of the St. Croix River , flows through the city from west to east. Larger lakes are Rice Lake , Benoit Lake, and Lipsett Lake .
history
Rusk was established in 1899 as the Town of Rusk, one of today's 21 townships in Burnett County. Namesake was the former governor of Wisconsin Jeremiah McLain Rusk . The 1900 census showed 630 inhabitants. The main occupations were dairy products, grain cultivation and the timber industry.
