Heidi Grau (2014)

Heidi Grau is a Swiss diplomat and head of the EDA department for human security. The Federal Council has awarded her the title of ambassador .

Life

The historian began her professional career in 1997 at the Swiss embassy in Moscow. Back in Switzerland, she dealt with security issues, especially small arms. After serving in the UN mission in New York, she worked as head of cabinet for Federal Councilor Micheline Calmy-Rey .

In 2014, Switzerland chaired the OSCE . Heidi Grau worked in the Ukraine as the Swiss OSCE ambassador in the Ukraine conflict .

In early 2020 she took over the role of Special Envoy of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in Ukraine from Martin Sajdik .
