Heidi Nordby Lunde (born February 3, 1973 in Oslo ) is a Norwegian politician of the conservative Høyre party . She has been a member of the Storting since 2013 .

Life

Lunde became known as a writer, presenter and speaker. As a blogger, she was active under the pseudonym VamPus . In 2005 she received the Gullbloggen blogger prize for this and she justified her use of a pseudonym by saying that her employer should not be associated with her posts. Lunde dealt with, among other things, digital and social media. From 2003 she worked in various positions in the media industry.

In 1993 she was a member of the Fremskrittspartiet (FrP) in the election campaign for a seat in the Norwegian national parliament in Storting , but missed it. She later moved to the conservative Høyre party.

In the 2013 parliamentary elections , she again missed direct entry into Storting and she became a so-called Vararepresentant , i.e. possible substitute MPs. From October 2013, Lunde took over from her party colleague Ine Marie Eriksen Søreide , who, as a member of the government, had to suspend her mandate for the rest of the legislative period. Lunde became a member of the finance committee. In the 2017 election , she finally moved directly to parliament for the Oslo constituency and switched to the Labor and Social Committee. There she acts as deputy chairwoman.

In October 2017 she took over the chairmanship of the pro-European movement Europabevegelsen . In January 2018 she was elected as the new leader of her party in Oslo.

Positions

Lunde is one of the opponents of the fact that Norway has a royal family . In January 2019 she was one of the co-initiators of a legislative proposal that would have turned Norway into a republic . The proposal was ultimately rejected by 36 votes to 130, with only two MPs from her party voting for the law.
