Heidrun Woltjen

Heidrun Woltjen - née Haltermann - (born March 2, 1965 ) is a German table tennis player . She was third in doubles at the German championships in 1986 and won the Swiss team championship in 1989 with the TTC Dietikon. At the moment (2019) she is active in powerlifting .

Career

Heidrun Haltermann started playing table tennis at SV Ahlem . She achieved her first successes in her youth. She won the student championship of Lower Saxony and Northern Germany several times, and in 1981 she became the German student champion in the individual. Then she was appointed to the DTTB squad for the European Youth Championships in Topolcany in 1981, where she was eliminated immediately in the individual. The doubles with Nicole Dekein reached the round of 16 after two wins, in the mixed with Bernd Sonntag it was the end of the line in the second round.

In 1982 she was with the women's team of SV Ahlem champion in the 2nd Bundesliga North and rose to the 1st Bundesliga . Here she played until 1986, then she switched to the Reinickendorfer Füchsen , who were also represented in the 1st BL. In the same year she won bronze in doubles at the national German championships together with Barbara Zimmermann .

In 1989 Heidrun Woltjen - she had meanwhile married - went to Switzerland. Here she asserted herself against the best Swiss players. She finished third in the Elite-10 ranking tournament, and she was Swiss team champion with TTC Dietikon . At the 1990 European Championships she represented Switzerland.

In 1991 she returned to Germany and joined the TuS Holtriem association. As a result, she played for several clubs: TV Jahn Delmenhorst (from 1998), SG Marßel ​​Bremen (from 2002), Hundsmühler TV (from 2004), SG Marßel ​​Bremen (from 2007, 2nd BL), TTK Großwedel (from 2008) .

After 2005, Heidrun Woltjen took part in national and international senior tournaments. At the Senior World Championships 2006 in Bremen she won bronze in the age group 40+ in doubles with Angela Walter.

Currently (2019) Heidrun Woltjen is dedicated to powerlifting and takes part in German championships in this discipline.

Private

Heidrun Woltjen has two children. Her daughter Annika (* 1992) also played table tennis and reached the league level.
