Nicole Dekein (born October 13, 1966 ) is a German table tennis player . She took part in the 1987 World Cup.

youth

Dekein started her career at Siegener SC together with her sister Brigitte. In the 1981/82 season both played at TTC Bärbroich and then switched to TuS Jahn Soest , whose women's team played in the 2nd Bundesliga at the time.

During this time Nicole Dekein achieved several successes in the youth field. In 1980/81 she was runner-up at the German school championships. In 1982/83 she became the West German girl champion in singles and mixed with Peter Hufeisen. A year later she defended this title in singles. In 1983/84 she reached the final at the German youth championships in doubles with Katja Nolten . In the same season she was second in the national ranking tournament TOP12 youth.

Adults

At the West German Championships, Nicole Dekein won the singles and doubles titles with her sister Brigitte in 1984/85. The same double became champions again in 1985/86.

In 1987 she was nominated to replace the sick Olga Nemes for the World Cup in New Delhi. Here she reached the third round in the individual after a bye and a victory over Katalina Iwanowa (Bulgaria), where she was defeated by the Japanese Kiyomi Ishida. The doubles with Katja Nolten survived two rounds against Elisabeth Robb / Janet Smith (Scotland) and Jose Bakker / Bettine Vriesekoop (Netherlands) and then lost to the Japanese Mika Hoshino / Miki Kitsukawa. With the German women's team, she came in 14th.

In 1987, Dekein moved from TuS Jahn Soest to the first division club VSC 1862 Donauwörth . A year later she announced her resignation from the national team for professional reasons . In 1989 she left the VSC 1862 Donauwörth.

Private

The ancestors of the Dekein family come from Belgium. Nicole Dekein has two older sisters named Sonja and Brigitte. Today Dekein has two sons including Nico Werner .
