Heike Singer

Heike Klein , née Heike Singer , (born July 14, 1964 in Rodewisch ) is a former German canoeist . In 1988 she became Olympic champion in a four-person kayak in Seoul with Birgit Schmidt , Anke Nothnagel and Ramona Portwich . For this victory she was awarded the Patriotic Order of Merit in Gold. In 1989 she became double world champion in K2 with Anke Nothnagel and K4 with Monika Bunke and Ramona Portwich.

Heike Singer started for SC Berlin-Grünau and was a member of the GDR 's national canoe team from 1985 to 1989 . Then she ended her sporting career and devoted herself to her professional career, u. a. in key account management (air travel, hotel and events).
