Heiko Lueken

Heiko Lueken (born August 21, 1942 in Wilhelmshaven ; † August 5, 2016 in Aachen ) was a German chemist and professor of inorganic chemistry at RWTH Aachen University .

Life

Lueken studied chemistry at the University of Münster . He completed his studies with a diploma in 1969. He then moved to RWTH Aachen University, where he received his doctorate in the Welf Bronger working group in 1972 and completed his habilitation in June 1979. In 1983 he was appointed to the University of Clausthal and only one year later to the RWTH Aachen, where he worked as a professor for inorganic chemistry and retired in 2007 .

The focus of his scientific work was on the synthesis and magnetochemical analysis of transition metal and lanthanoid- based magnetic compounds.
