Heiko Triebener

Heiko Triebener (born November 24, 1964 in Berlin ) is a German tuba player .

He grew up in Tübingen , where he graduated from high school and studied musicology . As a high school student he took baritone and then tuba lessons at the Tübingen music school and studied privately with Robert Tucci ( Bavarian State Opera ). As a student, he attended numerous master classes by major tuba players in Europe and North America.

In 1984 Heiko Triebener won the Markneukirchen International Instrumental Competition and the Solo Tuba Competition of the International Brass Conference Bloomington (Indiana) . In the same year he became tuba player with the Saarbrücken Radio Symphony Orchestra , in 1987 he switched to the orchestra of the Beethovenhalle Bonn , and since 1993 he has played with the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra .

Heiko Triebener has appeared as a soloist around the world and has also made a name for himself as a chamber musician , for example in the Melton Tuba Quartet, which he co-founded in 1987 . He has given master classes in Europe, North America and Asia and has played, taught and lectured at numerous international tuba congresses.

Heiko Triebener has been a lecturer in tuba at the University of Music in Würzburg since 2012.
