Heilewigis
Heilewigis († July 8, 1270 ) was abbess at Freckenhorst Abbey .
Life
The origin of the Heilewigis has not been proven. Due to the close contact with the noble lords of the Lippe, there could be a family connection. She was first mentioned in a document in 1240 as the successor to Abbess Ida . Numerous documents relating to legal matters (donations, purchases and sales) have been received from her term of office. In 1267 her successor Jutta was introduced to her office.
