The Heimathaus Verl is a arisings 1615 Dielenhaus that today the home club of the city of Verl in Gütersloh in North Rhine-Westphalia for cultural events is used.

history

After the first church , the St. Anna Chapel, had been built in Verler Land in 1512 , the first mottling sites were built around it. The home house was originally such a mucking point. In addition to a small farm, the Kötter also operated handicrafts and trade. The house is located on Kirchring and thus belongs to the immediate nucleus of today's municipality of Verl.

The house was first documented in 1615 by the Markkötter Otto Gutscher . For a long time it served to run the restaurant "In der Landkutschen". From 1863, after it became the property of the Schröder family, cigars and spirits were also produced there. As a commercial building, it was rebuilt again and again over the years, but continued to deteriorate.

From 1983 the municipality of Verl leased the house from the Schröder family by way of heritable building right and renovated it together with the local history association, which would later use the building. Heimathaus Verl was officially opened on September 1, 1986 .

exhibition

In the attic of the house the permanent exhibition "1000 years of settlement Verl" and in the upper floor a local history library . In addition, changing exhibitions are shown on this level. The ground floor is used for further exhibitions about the events in connection with the First and Second World War and documentation on the settlement history of the Verler Höfe. There is also an exhibition about the old handicrafts in Verler Land. Throughout the year the Heimatverein Verl organizes numerous cultural events, such as readings , concerts and art exhibitions in the Heimathaus Verl .
