Homes Müller

Heime Müller (born July 6, 1970 in Hamburg ) is a German violinist and university professor. He was a member of the Artemis Quartet for 16 years .

Life

Heime Müller received his violin training from Marianne Petersen , Uwe-Martin Haiberg , Ulf Hoelscher and Nora Chastain . From 1990 he studied at the Lübeck University of Music , briefly moved to Karlsruhe, but then returned to Lübeck, where he took his diploma. From 1991 to 2007 he was alternating violinist in the Artemis Quartet , with whom he performed in almost all major halls and festivals worldwide. Important teachers in the quartet are Walter Levin and the Alban Berg Quartet .

Heime Müller was professor for violin and chamber music at the Berlin University of the Arts from 2006 to 2009 . In 2009 he switched to the Lübeck University of Music in the same position . He is also professor for string quartet at the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía in Madrid. Müller has also been artistic director of the Jeunesses Musicales International Chamber Music Campus at Weikersheim Castle since 2008 .

Heime Müller arranged the piano sonata op. 1 by Alban Berg for string sextet as well as his song cycles Seven Early Songs and op. 2 for voice and string quartet.
