Hein-Arne Mathiesen (born April 4, 1971 ) is a former Norwegian ski jumper .

Career

Mathiesen started in the Continental Cup (COC) in 1991 . In the first two years, however, he was unsuccessful. It was not until the 1993/94 season that he was able to achieve 16th place in the overall COC ranking with 302 points. Thereupon he was nominated for the first time for a jumping in the ski jumping world cup on January 22nd, 1994 and jumped from the normal hill in Sapporo to the 54th place. The day later he was unsuccessful with 42nd place on the large hill. In the following seasons he jumped again exclusively in the Continental Cup. In the 1996/97 season he achieved his first and only overall victory in this series with 841 points. He was then nominated in 1997 for further jumping in the World Cup. On February 1, 1997, he achieved his first World Cup points with 28th place in Willingen . In the second competition a day later he achieved the highest ranking of his career in the World Cup with 9th place. He finished the 1996/97 World Cup season in 61st place in the overall World Cup ranking. For the 1997/98 season he started again unsuccessfully in the Continental Cup before ending his active ski jumping career at the end of the 1998 season.
