Hein Mück (boxer)

Heinz "Hein" Mück , (* 1941 in Siegburg ) is a German boxer. He fought for the Siegburg Box Club in 1921 .

Career

Heinz Mück started boxing when he was ten. During his military service in Pinneberg , however, he was also named in reference to Hein Mück , whereupon he adopted this name and became known under it. In 1962 he became European NATO champion, 1963 military world champion and 1967 German light middleweight champion . In 1968 he was supposed to be a member of the German Olympic team, but could not take part because of a splinter fracture.

Mück played 370 fights, 18 of which ended in a draw and 27 were lost.

Honorary positions

In 1999 Hein Mück withdrew from the work of the Siegburger Box Club due to health problems and was appointed honorary chairman. He is also an honorary member of the Middle Rhine Amateur Boxing Association. He was master of ceremonies at the carnival receptions in the Siegburg district hall for 30 years . In addition, from 1979 to 2005 he worked 175 times as Saint Martin , often stating Santa Claus and visiting kindergartens, schools and old people's homes.

Honors

On November 6, 2001, Heinz Mück was awarded the Cross of Merit on Ribbon of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany , in 2005 he received the coat of arms of the city of Siegburg.

Private

Mück lives in Sankt Augustin - Mülldorf and is a trained machine fitter . Later he worked as warehouse and dispatch manager for a confectionery and spirits company.
