It was founded in 1949 in Berlin-Spandau and was the first manufacturer in Germany to deliver a sausage without casing . This formed the basis for the Berlin currywurst to quickly become known .

history

The Fleischer Maximilian Brückner and Frank Friedrich from Berlin founded shortly after the end of the Second World War under the name Maximilian meat a sausage manufactory . At the same time, the proven snack stand owner Herta Heuwer in Berlin a special blend of spices for their ready to eat sausages. Brückner and Friedrich worked closely with Herta Heuwer and found that a skinless sausage would best accept the mixture known as curry powder . They now made these in their manufactory. In addition, both sides refined the currywurst recipe and sold this sausage together.

Heuwer and Maximilian were able to keep their products on the market for decades. Until 2008 the factory was located in Spandau, where the production rooms could not keep up with the increased demand for products. The conditions at Juliusstrasse 18 in Neukölln were favorable, so the company moved there. In August 2014, the meat producer Die Rostocker bought three quarters of the almost insolvent company, but did not change the concept of the hand-made curry sausages. In October 2015, 14 employees worked in the new premises.

In the 2010s, the sausage manufacturer supplied more than 100 food stalls and restaurants , mainly in the former West Berlin . In 2014, two new managing directors, master butchers Wolfgang Schwarzer and Tobias Blömer, took up their positions here and took care of technical modernization and improvement of the economic situation.
