Hein Mulders

Hein Mulders (born October 9, 1962 in Bussum ) is a Dutch cultural manager and director of the Philharmonie Essen since the beginning of the 2013/14 season .

Life

Mulders studied art history in Paris , as well as archeology , Italian and musicology and art history in Amsterdam . He began his professional career for five years as the orchestra manager of the Dutch national youth orchestra in Amsterdam and then he was casting director of the Flemish Opera in Antwerp for eleven years . He then took over the artistic direction of the Nederlandse Opera Amsterdam.

Since the beginning of the 2013/14 season, Mulders has been the successor to Stefan Soltesz, directing the Aalto-Theater and the Philharmonie in Essen . He appointed the Czech Tomáš Netopil as general music director .
