Heiner Buhlmann

Heiner Buhlmann , bourgeois Heinrich Buhlmann (* 1947 ) is a German music teacher , conductor and oboist .

Life

Buhlmann studied music in the subjects of piano, organ, oboe, composition and conducting in Bremen and Berlin and completed his studies in 1975 with the final examination in oboe. This was followed by a teaching position in piano at the University of Bremen and an engagement as an English horn player at the Bremerhaven municipal orchestra.

In 1980 he came to the Bremen Music School and founded the Bremen Youth Symphony Orchestra in the same year. The University Orchestra Oldenburg was founded in 1982 and the Jugendsinfonietta Bremen was founded in 1983, both under his direction. In 1987 he was first acting director, then in 1988 full director of the Bremen Music School. In 1999 he founded the International Youth Symphony Orchestra Bremen, which he also directed.

With a farewell concert on July 14, 2012, he ended his permanent activity. Since 2013 Buhlmann has performed with the “Arab Youth Philharmonic Orchestra”.

Services

Buhlmann has undertaken a large number of international concert tours with the Bremen youth orchestras he founded and directs.

In addition, he initiated the children's and family concerts in Bremen with the orchestras and played a key role in the creation and implementation of the open-air concerts under the title Music and Light at Hollersee , which annually attracted up to 20,000 visitors.
