Heiner Giersberg

Heiner Giersberg (* 1941 ) is a German journalist , dubbing and audio book speaker .

Life

The journalist Heiner Giersberg worked as a senior policy editor and moderator for the SFB (Sender Free Berlin, now RBB ) in Berlin. In the nineteen eighties and nineties national and international assignments as reporters were added. Giersberg later reported as a bimedial political correspondent for radio and television from the federal capital Bonn . For several years he worked as a special correspondent abroad for ARD. Among other things, he reported several times from Afghanistan. For this reporting he received a television award (documentary: "The Forgotten War"). Further stations were Ethiopia, Central Africa and the conflicting parties in the first Iran-Iraq war (First Gulf War). He held management positions for the Central German Broadcasting Corporation as head of television in Magdeburg. In Erfurt, as spokesman for the state government, he was responsible for economy, traffic, infrastructure and tourism. He also took on the role of press officer for the Berlin 2000 Olympic bid. Giersberg teaches speech training at German journalism schools and academies. Heiner Giersberg is one of the best-known voices of the former Free Berlin broadcaster and achieved particular popularity in the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s.

In 1984 he received the German TV Prize of the Eduard Rhein Foundation as the author of the television documentary "The Forgotten War" .
