The Heinitzburg , (historically actually Heynitzburg ), one of the three castles in Windhoek - Luxushügel ( Namibia ), was built by the architect Wilhelm Sander for himself in 1914, but sold it in 1916 to Hans Bogislav Graf von Schwerin , who then took over the facility named after the family of his wife "Heynitzburg".
The castle shows typical castle structures : twisted staircase , lead windows, battlements as well as a medieval look and a wide view over Windhoek.
The Heinitzburg now houses a luxury hotel and a restaurant and was a member of Relais & Châteaux , a global association of individually operated luxury hotels , until mid-2013 .
