Heinrich Pickel

Heinrich Alexius Pickel (born March 21, 1883 in Kottenheim ; † July 3, 1964 there ) was a German entrepreneur and politician ( center , later CDU ).

Life and work

Pickel was born the son of an industrialist. After attending the construction technology center in Bingen and the commercial vocational school in Cologne , he took over his parents' business in the basalt and tuff stone industry. By merging several stonemasonry companies in 1922, he expanded the company into TUBAG (Tuff und Basalt AG), which still exists today, and took over the post of CEO. In 1932 he moved the company's headquarters to Kruft . In addition, he was chairman of the Mayen district employers 'association, chairman of the German natural stone association and chairman of the stone and earth employers' association Koblenz - Neuwied . In 1951 he resigned as CEO of TUBAG, but remained on the supervisory board.

Political party

Pickel was a member of the Center Party during the Weimar Republic . After 1945 he was one of the founders of the CDU in Kottenheim. He was elected chairman of the CDU district association Mayen and had been a member of the district executive committee and the state executive committee of the Rhineland-Palatinate Christian Democrats since 1951.

MP

Pickel was elected to the council of the municipality of Kottenheim in 1924 and was a member of the Mayen district council from 1928 to 1933 . He was a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament from 1951 to 1963.
