Heinrich Anz (literary scholar)

Heinrich Anz (born July 21, 1942 in Marburg ) is a German literary scholar and university professor .

Life

After graduating from high school, Heinrich Anz studied German, philosophy and classical philology at the universities of Tübingen, (West) Berlin and Heidelberg from 1962. In 1968 he passed the state examination. He was a scholarship holder of the Evangelisches Studienwerk Villigst .

From 1968 to 1976 Heinrich Anz worked as a research assistant at the German Department of the University of Heidelberg and then until 1982 as a lecturer for modern German literature at the Institute for germansk filologi at the University of Copenhagen in Denmark . In 1978 received his doctorate he attended the University of Heidelberg Dr. phil. The topic of his dissertation was: The Importance of Poetic Speech. Studies on the hermeneutical justification and criticism of poetology and was published in 1979 by Fink in Munich .

In 1983 he was appointed Professor of Modern German Literature at the Institutt for språk og litteratur at Tromsø University in Norway . He then held the professorship for Modern Scandinavian Literature at the Institute for Comparative Germanic Philology and Scandinavian Studies at the University of Freiburg until 1999 . After that he was full professor for North Germanic Philology and Director of the Institute for Comparative Germanic Philology and Scandinavian Studies at the University of Freiburg until 2008 and at the same time Dean of Studies of the Philosophical Faculty III and Philological Faculty and chairman of the study committee. Heinrich Anz retired on April 1, 2008. Since then he has been an honorary professor for Scandinavian studies / literary studies at the Northern Europe Institute of the Humboldt University in Berlin .
