Heinrich August Müller

Heinrich August Müller (born November 16, 1832 in Hamburg ; † January 28, 1903 there ) was a German businessman .

Life

Müller completed an apprenticeship in trade , first lived in Glasgow and worked there as a businessman. After his father's death on May 3, 1857, he returned to Hamburg to continue the father's company. He took the Hamburg citizen oath and on September 1, 1857 became the sole owner of the Franz Theodor Müller company. The company was liquidated on January 1, 1859 . On the same day, Müller founded the company Lappenberg & Müller together with Gustav Adolph Lappenberg , which he ran alone after Lappenberg left in 1878 until the business was closed on April 30, 1880.

Müller was elected to the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce on December 30, 1871 , which he headed as President in 1876. He represented the Chamber in various deputations . The Chamber of Commerce members and former adjuncts elected Müller in a joint meeting on September 24, 1873 as a member of the Hamburg Parliament . He remained a member of the city council until the end of 1876. From 1878 to 1885 he acted as a commercial judge .
