Heinrich Bertelsmann
Heinrich Friedrich Christian Bertelsmann (born December 23, 1827 in Gütersloh ; † March 3, 1887 in Berlin ) was a German publisher and son of Carl Bertelsmann , the founder of C. Bertelsmann Verlag .
Under his leadership, (partial) acquisitions of other publishers took place from 1849 in order to add publications from the fields of youth literature, linguistics and history to the publishing program. This made a significant contribution to the expansion of the publishing house.
Bertelsmann had been married to Emma Friederike Luise Charlotte Baake (1832-1896) since 1856. His daughter Friederike (1859–1946) married the bookseller Johannes Mohn in 1881 , who continued the publishing house after Bertelsmann's death.
