Heinrich Brandis (politician)

Heinrich Graf Brandis (born April 20, 1821 in Graz , † February 17, 1900 in Vienna ) was an Austrian Catholic-Conservative politician.

biography

On October 16, 1869, the Catholic People's Association for Upper Austria was founded , with Brandis becoming the first chairman and holding this position until 1891. The Upper Austrian regional organization of the Christian Social Party, which existed until 1934, developed from this group . From 1870 to 1892 he was a member of the state parliament in Upper Austria , from 1873 to 1891 a member of the Reichsrat , from 1891 a member of the manor house . From 1873 Brandis was also chairman of Volkskredit Oberösterreich .

Brandis was the kuk chamberlain and secretary of the Star Cross . He was married and had one child.
