Heinrich Burkard (born September 8, 1888 in Achern , † May 1, 1950 in Stuttgart ) was a musician and co-founder of the Donaueschinger Musiktage .

Life

Heinrich Burkard was the son of the Achern Rößlewirt and confectioner, and received his musical training in Strasbourg under Hans Pfitzner . When the pastor Heinrich Feurstein was transferred to Donaueschingen, Heinrich Burkard also came to the princely residence. There he renewed the musical life with the favor of the royal family; On the occasion of the wedding in the Princely House in 1912, a rich field of activity resulted for him. He became Princely Fürstenberg Music Director and founded an orchestra. He was called up in the First World War and then worked in Baden-Baden and Berlin for radio , and later in Stuttgart.
