Max Rieple

Max Rieple (born February 13, 1902 in Donaueschingen ; † January 16, 1981 ibid) was a German writer , poet and translator from French into German .

Live and act

Rieple attended the Fürstenberg-Gymnasium in Donaueschingen, where he graduated from high school in 1920 . He then studied law , art history and music at the universities in Heidelberg , Freiburg and Munich . At times he ran a textile business. He later became a freelance writer. From 1947 to 1960 Rieple was President of the Society of Friends of Music in Donaueschingen and is considered to be the innovator of the Donaueschinger Musiktage . In 1956 he married Anna Kitzel, who ran the Scheffel pharmacy in Donaueschingen . The two children Angela and Thomas emerged from the marriage. Max Rieple achieved particular fame through his numerous landscape and travel books.
