Heinrich Christian Pries

Heinrich Christian Pries (born May 29, 1798 in Waren (Müritz) , † September 20, 1866 in Schwerin ) was a German lawyer, mayor of the city of Waren and parliamentarian.

Life

Pries was the son of the lawyer and mayor Wilhelm Pries and studied law from 1817 at the University of Rostock . After graduating, he became a lawyer in his hometown. From 1831 to 1866 Pries was mayor of Waren and an honorary citizen of the city. In 1866 he was retired due to illness and shortly afterwards took his own life in the insane asylum in Sachsenberg, today Helios Kliniken Schwerin , at that time just outside Schwerin.

In 1848 Pries was a member of the Mecklenburg Assembly of Representatives in the Mecklenburg-Schwerin constituency 80 (goods). He belonged to the right-wing center faction and worked on the economic committee. Further in the committee for a new municipal code and in the committee for questions of the craft. One of his main concerns was the construction of the highway between Waren and Teterow.
