Heinrich Ely senior

Heinrich Ely (senior) (born October 28, 1821 in Kassel ; † October 30, 1886 in Wehlheiden ) was a German glass painter .

Life

He had been married to Anais Ely (née Fleury), who was last documented to be widowed in 1897 at the latest, since 1849, father of the twin brothers Heinrich Ely (junior) and Ludwig Ely , who continued his workshop from 1854 to 1912 after his death, but soon also died. The workshop, initially based in Nantes and later in Kassel-Wehlheiden , realized glazing in the then German Empire, in France and in the United States of America.
