Heinrich Engels

Heinrich Engels (born October 30, 1872 in Cologne-Ehrenfeld ; † December 3, 1943 ) was an official in the Archdiocese of Cologne .

On July 10, 1897 in Cologne for priests ordained , he was born on August 30, 1897 Kaplan in Ratingen . Since August 2, 1902 rector and from January 5, 1904 pastor in Cologne-Humboldt, he became pastor at St. Marien in Mülheim / Ruhr on June 1, 1908, from where on April 18, 1919 he was appointed pastor to the Quirinusmünster went to Neuss .

Archbishop Karl Joseph Schulte appointed him on April 22, 1921, as sub-rain of the Cologne seminary and professor for sacraments and pastoral care, which he remained until spring 1929. Since 1921 he has also been a prosynodal examinator, Engels became a prosynodal judge in 1922 and on January 22, 1923 cathedral chapter in Cologne. Since May 6, 1929 he has also been a Vicariate General, and on October 25, 1929 he was appointed examining magistrate in disciplinary matters at the Archbishop's Office.

Raised papal house prelate on April 25, 1931 , the archbishop appointed him official on November 24, 1937, which he remained until his death. His grave is in the Marienthal monastery cemetery near Hamm .
