Heinrich Huth (athlete)

Heinrich "Heiner" Huth (born March 4, 1920 in Freigericht - Bernbach ; † September 7, 1990 in Gelnhausen ), also called "Korzer-Hoiner", was a German athlete .

Huth began his athletics career at SV Dunlop Hanau and later moved to Eintracht Frankfurt . In 1937 he was third in the German Youth Championships in the 100-meter run . In 1938 he won the 100 meter title and in the 4 x 100 meter relay , in the same year he was German junior champion in the 200 meter run .

In 1943, Huth was German athletics double champion over 100 meters and with the 4 x 100 meter relay from Eintracht Frankfurt. At the first post-war championships in 1946 , he won the runner-up in the 4 x 100 meter relay.

He set his personal best of 21.8 seconds over 200 meters on May 15, 1938 in Kassel. On August 12, 1939, he was able to stop this performance at a sports festival in Frankfurt, on the same day he ran another best time of 10.6 seconds over 100 meters. Eintracht Frankfurt's 10 x 100 meter relay set a German record in 1: 46.9 minutes that day.

In the Bernbach district in Freigericht, a street is to be named Heinrich-Huth-Straße in the future.
