Heinrich I. (Tecklenburg)

Heinrich I of Tecklenburg (* around 1115 ; † November 22, 1156 ) was Count of Tecklenburg .

Life

Heinrich I von Tecklenburg was born around 1115 as the eldest son of Ekbert I von Tecklenburg and his second wife Adelheid von Zutphen-Geldern . He married Eilika von Oldenburg (* around 1120), daughter of Count Egilmar II in Lerigau .

Around 1150 he followed his father as Count von Tecklenburg and became a vassal of the bishops of Münster and Osnabrück , from which the many disputes arose. He had a lot of free float throughout Westphalia / Friesland, consistently expanded the power of the house and was in Italy with Emperor Friedrich I ( Barbarossa ) in 1154/55 .

He died on November 22, 1156.
