Heinrich Kapferer

Karl Heinrich Kapferer (born August 19, 1781 in Freiburg im Breisgau ; † November 25, 1856 ibid) was a German businessman, textile manufacturer, city councilor in Freiburg and member of the Baden state parliament .

Life

Heinrich was the son of Franz de Paula Kapferer (1736–1804), founder of the Gebrüder Kapferer company , and Maria Katharina Sautier (1744–1801). Together with his brother Franz de Paula (junior), he took over his father's company in 1795 and on December 24, 1815 bought the Propsteigebuilding of the St. Margarethen monastery in Waldkirch, which the two brothers used to build a cotton factory. On June 30, 1819 he was granted honorary citizenship of the city of Waldkirch.

Baden state parliament

Heinrich Kapferer was elected member of the second chamber of the Baden state parliament from 1822 to 1823 for the constituency A14 of the Freiburg (II) regional office and the offices of Waldkirch and Elzach.
