Heinrich Karl of Braunschweig-Wolfenbüttel

Heinrich Karl von Braunschweig-Wolfenbüttel (born September 7, 1609 in Hesse Castle ; † June 11, 1615 in Helmstedt ) was a prince of Braunschweig-Wolfenbüttel and administrator of the Halberstadt diocese .

Life

Heinrich Karl was a son of Duke Heinrich Julius von Braunschweig-Wolfenbüttel (1564–1613) from his second marriage to Elisabeth (1573–1626), eldest daughter of King Friedrich II of Denmark .

Heinrich Karl was born on October 21, 1613 shortly after the death of his father from the chapter in Halberstadt for Protestant administrator chosen Halberstadt of the diocese. With the election of the 4-year-old, the chapter promised itself to be able to manage the diocese for a few years. Heinrich Karl died of the leaves at the age of 5 before he took office in Helmstedt, where he was to grow up and be brought up . He was buried in the Marienkirche in Wolfenbüttel and his older brother Rudolf followed him in office .
