Heinrich Koll

Heinrich Koll (* 1951 in Vienna ) is an Austrian violist .

Life

Koll studied at the Vienna University of Music under Professors Steinbauer and Franz Samohyl and graduated with honors in 1975. In the same year he became principal violist of the Lower Austrian Tonkünstler . From 1976 to 1980 he was principal violist of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra , from 1980 principal violist of the Vienna State Opera Orchestra and the Vienna Philharmonic . Since 1978 Koll has been a member of the Musikverein Quartet ("Küchl Quartet").

His daughter Patricia Koll is a violinist, and they performed together at the 2015 New Year's Concert .
