Heinrich Munk (historian)

Heinrich Munk (* 1936 ) is a German genealogist , local historian and non-fiction book - author particularly on the history of communication .

Life

Heinrich Munk worked as an official of the Deutsche Bundespost and built up the postal history collection at the OPD Hanover , where he worked together with Heinz Drangmeister as museum director. At the beginning of the 1980s he was referred to as "Head of the Postal Museum in Hanover". One of his research areas was postal history in Lower Saxony .

From 1979 Munk was editor of the Postgeschichtliche Blätter Hannover-Braunschweig . He was made an honorary member of the German Society for Postal and Telecommunications History (DGPT).

In addition, Heinrich Munk published on local, regional and national history. He wrote around 30 books as well as numerous articles and contributions on local history.
