Heinrich Ohlhorst

Heinrich Ohlhorst (born September 4, 1878 in Hohenholz , † October 23, 1969 in Steinhude ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Life

Heinrich Ohlhorst was born the son of a master weaver. After attending school, he completed an apprenticeship as a weaver in his father's business from 1892 to 1895 and then worked as a weaver in Steinhude. From 1914 to 1918 he took part in the First World War as a soldier .

Ohlhorst was chairman of the local SPD association Steinhude. In 1931 he was elected as a member of the state parliament of the Free State of Schaumburg-Lippe . To protest against political developments, he resigned his state parliament mandate in 1933 together with the Social Democratic MPs Wilhelm Behrens , Wilhelm Kuhlmann and Franz Reuther .

After the National Socialists came to power in 1933, he was temporarily taken into " protective custody " in the Stadthagen court prison . He was briefly imprisoned in 1944 as part of the grid action , but released after two days for health reasons.

Heinrich Ohlhorst had been married since 1906 and had one child.
