Legal basis and structure
According to Section III of the Constitution of the Free State of Schaumburg-Lippe of February 24, 1922, the Landtag consisted of 15 members who were elected for a term of three years according to the principle of proportional representation. The minimum age for the active right to vote was 21 years and for the passive right to vote 28 years.
Its tasks were the legislation, the supervision of the government and administration, the exercise of the budget law, the election of the state government and, if necessary, the prosecution of ministers.
The legal basis for the election of the state parliament was the state election law of February 25, 1922.
With the law on the rebuilding of the Reich of January 30, 1934, the state parliament was dissolved. After the Second World War , Lower Saxony was established in place of the Free State of Schaumburg-Lippe . Its Landtag took over the functions of the Landtag of the predecessor countries.
