Heinrich Riegel

Heinrich Riegel (born June 21, 1883 in Monzingen ; † February 3, 1967 ) was a Hessian politician ( SPD ) and a member of the state assembly of Greater Hesse , a predecessor of the Hessian state parliament .

Heinrich Riegel attended elementary school and commercial training courses. He then worked as a cigar worker, foreman and dispatch manager. In 1910 he became a union employee in Aachen, from 1911 to 1914 in Giessen.

Since January 1, 1903, he was a member and functionary of the SPD. From 1912 to 1914 he was the local chairman of the SPD in Giessen. From 1920 to 1926 he worked there as party secretary of the SPD, then in Darmstadt. From 1926 to 1933 he was district chairman of the SPD in the Darmstadt district. 1930 to 1933 he was chairman of the supervisory board of the printing company Hessischer Volksfreund, Darmstadt.

Heinrich Riegel was a member of the district council and member of the district committee in the Darmstadt district from 1924 to 1933. He was also a member of the provincial parliament of the Starkenburg province .

After the National Socialists seized power in 1933, he was dismissed. From 1936 to 1944 he was branch manager. 1944 after the assassination attempt on Hitler in the Dachau concentration camp .

From July 15, 1946 to November 30, 1946 he was a member of the state assembly of Greater Hesse, which advised the constitution.
