Heinrich Rudolph von Brackel

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Heinrich Rudolph von Brackel (born November 18, 1790 , † after 1848 ) was the royal Bavarian colonel and colonel in command of the Chevaulegers Regiment No. 5 and Mr. Martherey Castle in Switzerland.

He came from the Courland line of the Baltic aristocratic Brackel family . His parents were the French officer and hereditary lord of the Chamblon estate, Heinrich Friedrich von Brackel (* 1764, † after 1810) and Henrica von Marnard (* 1767).

Brackel was probably a pupil of the Pestalozzische Erziehungsanstalt in Yverdon before he went into Bavarian service. In 1839 he was promoted to the status of Bavarian baron and, as a colonel, was given the post of Commander-in-Chief of the Chevaulegers Regiment No. 5 in Leiningen , which he held until 1848.

He was married to Caroline Susanna Rigot von Begnins († 1843) since 1840. She carried him to Martherey Castle. The marriage remained childless, with which the Courland line of his family was decided.
