Heinrich Scheven (company)

The Scheven GmbH , previously Heinrich Scheven plant and pipeline construction , is a German company in the field of plant based in Erkrath .

The company goes back to Heinrich Scheven (1833–1896) from Bochum and the year 1874. It planned and built central water supplies, sewers, lighting systems as well as health resorts and bathing establishments. The subsequent managing directors were the son Friedrich Scheven (1865–1934) and Karlheinrich Tegge (1904–1983).

Up to the turn of the century, 70 waterworks were among the systems that were built. In 1907, a license agreement for the Emscherbrunnen patent was signed with Karl Imhoff . Over 100 sewage treatment plants were built using this process.

In 1967 the company's legal form was converted into a GmbH & Co. KG . In 1982 the company went bankrupt due to a lack of orders. In 1982 Heinrich Scheven Anlagen- undleitungbau GmbH was re-established in Düsseldorf as a subsidiary of Bilfinger + Berger Bau AG with Klaus Küsel as managing director. In 1990 the company headquarters was set up on Max-Planck-Strasse in Erkrath. In 2007 the company was renamed BIS Heinrich Scheven GmbH. In 2016 it employed around 250 people. In 2020 the company was taken over by the Diringer & Scheidel group of companies from Mannheim.
