Heinrich Thies (* 1938 in Westerrönfeld ) is a lobbyist for the Low German language and Low German language policy.

Heinrich Thies grew up in a Low German family and neighborhood in Westerrönfeld. In associations and committees he advocates the preservation and maintenance of the Low German language.
Together with friends, he founded the Glinde Home and Citizens Association. He was a member of the board for many years and was also its chairman for several years. The association was a basis for Low German events, a bilingual local history and mill museum in Glinde and a successful commitment to the inclusion of Low German in the Schleswig-Holstein state constitution and the European language charter.
